Nonetheless, if the system was left running for an extended period without a BIOS update, certain issues might have arisen—though I’m not sure about that. The board seems to adjust timing settings even after manual changes. It’s curious that my Corsair RAM appears in the same BIOS version as the motherboard, yet with a particular configuration I can’t locate. The issue started when I purchased the board late, despite the problem being resolved before, and the system only worked on BIOS versions older than 1807. That doesn’t make sense since such a CPU shouldn’t be failing if the system runs well. I also tested running Debian without problems, but I’m considering replacing it with a G.Skill 7800Mhz CL36 just to rule out RAM as the cause.

It seems there are just two RAM makers in general, and Corsair produces RAM from both sources, which you can tell apart by their timing differences. It doesn’t make sense for a brand to be significantly worse since they’re mostly similar unless they’re using defective chips. Since your setup matches mine, it’s probably the same manufacturer. You shouldn’t expect speeds above 6000 MHz on AM5, as that would likely hurt performance. The RAM you bought is well-rated and recommended, which is why I chose it. The fact you’re facing problems even with JEDEC is worrying. Usually I post with default settings; only EXPO caused trouble for me. It’s unlikely it’s a compatibility issue—more likely a problem with the CPU cooler installation or pressure, which could affect memory stability.

The settings vary each time, but I think the RAM configuration is the main problem. Some Corsair models perform poorly. I suggest using two GSKILL sticks until it works.

The XMP settings can further restrict options, and a 2x16GB 6000 CL30 chip would correspond to either of two Hynix dies—either a 16Gb M die or an 16Gb A die, the latter being more common. What stands out to me is that Corsair might face compatibility challenges compared to others due to differences in PCB design. Some companies like Adata and TeamGroup opt for OEM PCBs, while others build their own boards in-house (Corsair and G.Skill are examples). Since the PCB plays a key role in compatibility, it could be the reason Corsair experiences problems, especially with DDR4 memory. Ah yes, how did I forget Samsung, people go on about it so much. I do wonder if RGB memory would also be more prone to problems. It always seemed a bad idea to me to put something like that so close to components that could be sensitive to interference, never mind running off the same voltage pins. While some of my RAM is RGB (due to buying it in a pre-tested kit of motherboard, CPU and RAM), I tend to have it turned off.
