I checked online for the recommended RAM speed for my PC and found that the 7000 series typically works best around 6000 MHz. However, I noticed many users reported problems with the 7700X not reaching even that speed, often capping at around 4800 on auto and rarely hitting 5000 or 6000. This seems to be a recurring issue rather than something exclusive to certain CPUs. If this is widespread, it might be worth considering a different CPU instead.

It's rare, but you can opt for the 13th generation with DDR4, which is more affordable (DDR5 offers little benefit).

I tested 5600 and 6000mhz RAM across nine different configurations using ASUS B650 TUF PLUS WIFI with 7700x and 7900x chipsets. I selected the Kingston FURY Beast 5600 - 6000mhz paired with AMD EXPO (KF560C36BBEK2-32 / KF556C36BBEK2-32). Everything worked smoothly, booting with EXPO at both speeds. The motherboards listed in the QVL match those used. Be aware that most discussions focus on problems, so it seems a small fraction—possibly around 0.1%—are reporting success.

Typically CPUs reach up to 6000 under EXPO/XMP settings, while a few can hit 6400 with proper adjustments.
