Hello everyone, I just managed to overclock my CPU and it’s now working. The issue is that the core clock doesn’t update in Windows or monitoring tools—it only appears in BIOS. It’s running at 4.7 GHz with a Vcore of 1.25, but the temperatures are still very high. Any tips on managing that heat? Thanks for your help! CPU model: Z170XP-SLI - CPU I7700K.

Your overclock isn't functioning properly. Have you installed the most recent BIOS update? What are the turbo power settings configured? Use HWiNFO to investigate potential causes of throttling.

Thanks for the prompt response. I refreshed the bios last night with the latest release. To determine why throttling occurs, it helps to check during boot after overclocking versus without it. The turbo power limits control how much boost is allowed under different conditions. Let me know if you need more details!

Intel CPUs employ turbo boost for peak performance. When power constraints are at their standard levels, maximum speed won’t activate under load. Overclocking requires adjusting turbo ratios. If you provide the default settings, I can help resolve the issue.

I updated the turbo settings to 47 and now my core clock reads 4400 under full load, which is slower than the original 4.5 GHz speed.
