The scenario involves two options that seem quite alike, so the decision usually comes down to cost differences or personal preference regarding one's BIOS settings. However, there could be aspects where one works differently from the other or neither is suitable for your needs. We require additional details to clarify further.
Both models come with excessive features. The B650E-E Strix offers more than enough capability while being significantly cheaper than the Hero version.
You have the capability to use three NVMe drives on the Strix B650e-f board (my setup). Some boards support five, but I opted for larger ones (2TB, 3.84TB, and a 7.68TB U.2 drive). There are also 15.36GB drives available at reasonable prices. Beyond OC tweaks and VRM layout, higher-end boards offer more options—supporting PCIe 5.0 GPU, one PCIe 5.0 M.2, two PCIe 4.0 M.2, and even PCIe Bifurcation.
I can't determine which one is better without more context. Could you clarify what you're comparing and what criteria matter most?
I’d choose the ASUS board over the MSi in this situation. Past experiences with top-tier ASUS motherboards—like the Crosshair IV, V Formula, Maximus VII Hero, and X99 Deluxe II—show their UEFI setup is much smoother. The most recent MSi board I’ve used, a B450-A Pro Max, had a somewhat awkward UEFI interface. The Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Master I own works fine but has some odd behaviors. The Gigabyte B550 Aorus Pro seems to perform better, though it doesn’t quite match the quality of ASUS yet.
