Hello everyone, I'm looking into the temperatures your CPU reaches during games, specifically the core temperatures rather than the entire CPU. What comfortable core temperatures have you observed?

The central temperatures and the overall temperature are essentially the same, except that the cores are included in the package average. For example, with four cores and temperatures of 40/42/42/41, the package temperature would likely show 41 because the average is 41.25. If a core gets noticeably hotter than a few degrees Celsius during stress testing, I’d check your thermal paste and cooler contact plate to confirm the CPU is being adequately cooled.

Regarding what’s safe versus what’s acceptable, I’m using a Corsair H110i GTX, so I anticipate it performs similarly to a robust air cooler. No one can provide a definitive number without knowing your cooler type and whether you’re overclocking. I recently overclocked an i7-6700K to 4.4GHz and it hasn’t gotten hotter.

MWP0004: Here's a good guide on Intel CPU temperatures. i dont want to now the safe temps just the temps you and other feel comfortable with while gaming, and i mean the core temps

The central temperatures and the overall temperature are essentially the same, except that the cores are included in the package average. For example, with four cores and readings of 40/42/42/41, the package temperature would likely show 41 because the average is 41.25. If a core becomes noticeably hotter than a few degrees Celsius during stress testing, I’d check your thermal paste and cooler contact plate to confirm proper CPU cooling.

Regarding what’s safe versus what’s acceptable, I’m using a Corsair H110i GTX, so I anticipate it performs comparably to a robust air cooler. No one can provide a definitive number without knowing the cooler type and whether you’re overclocking. I recently overclocked an i7-6700K to 4.4GHz and maintained temperatures under 60°C while running Prime95.

Friends PC's CPU pairs well with an EVO cooler, achieving a clock speed of 4.6ghz and a voltage core frequency between 1.28 and 1.30, resulting in approximately 66 to 70°C during gaming.

The main temperatures and overall readings are similar, but the cores are included in the average calculation. For example, with four cores and temps of 40/42/42/41, the package temperature would likely show 41 because the average is 41.25. If a core gets noticeably hotter than a few degrees, it’s worth checking the thermal paste and cooler contact plate to ensure proper cooling.

Regarding acceptable versus safe levels, I use a Corsair H110i GTX, expecting it to perform just as well as a robust air cooler. No one can provide a definitive number without knowing your cooler type and whether you’re overclocking. I personally overclocked my i7-6700K to 4.4GHz and kept temperatures under 60°C using Prime95.

Just want to understand what people consider comfortable, not just safe—I know what’s safe.
