PSU: Corsair HX850 850W High Performance Power Supply, 80 PLUS Platinum, 135mm Fan, Completely Modular Board: Gigabyte Z490 AORUS PRO AX ATX Storage: 2x Samsung 2TB SSD, 970 EVO Plus, M.2 2280 NVMe PCIe Gen3 CPU: Intel Core i9 10900KF 3.7GHz Commet Lake 10 Core 20 Thread LGA1200 CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro H100i RGB Platinum CPU Cooler, RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 64GB (2x32GB), PC4-25600 (3200MHz) DDR4 First GPU was eVGA GeForce RTX3090 FTW3 Ultra 24GB (This one worked fine for about a month, then stopped after playing GTAV. Screen went black after roughly 20 minutes. Restarted PC, died after another 20 minutes and never functioned again) Have been using a MSI GTX 1660 for the past 18 months without any issues. New graphics card is a Zotac 4080 16GB Trinity. I didn’t uninstall the display driver. Just turned off the PC, swapped out the card, tried both display and HDMI, but got no signal. I think there might be an issue inside the system.**

Test the card in the second position, just to check if the problem lies with the main slot.

I recall attempting that with the 3090 but it didn’t resolve the issue. That’s why I’m cautious about changing PCIe slots again, fearing a power-related problem could harm the card.

Considering flipping the single or multi-rail switch on your PSU might not be effective, though I'm exploring it anyway.

I was merely inspecting that component. I pulled the power supply out to verify the cables are secure—they are. The red markings indicate the three 8-pin connectors are plugged in, and it’s set to "Multiple." I’ll test single now to see how it behaves.

I switched to single. And there is a display signla now! Resolution was messed up as normal with a new card, installed drivers which fixed it now waiting for the Reboot. If that switch was the issue, I vaguely remember fretting about that when I first installed it and I was sure I had it in the "correct" position for whatever reason. I'm going to try to put my 3090 back in after this and see if that works.

That's encouraging news. It's helpful to be informed. Just make sure to uninstall the display driver before choosing a card to avoid any compatibility problems.

No worries, happy to help! For downloading DDU, it's best to use trusted sources like official websites or reputable app stores.

Great, thanks! Unfortunately, the 3090 still isn’t working (no signal despite the red lights). It’s unclear whether that means I’m not happy about spending 2k on a new card or if I should be relieved it could be fixed.
