I assembled and fixed numerous PCs but this one remains elusive. It’s a budget build with an $500 i3 12100F, Asrock H610M-HVS, 2GB RAM at 3200mhz CL16, EVGA 550BP, and RX6500XT. After powering it on, there’s no display—fans spin but the system stays on briefly before shutting down and restarting repeatedly. I’ve tried standard checks like reseating components, checking RAM, and using different slots. Eventually, I recalled having a 12700K available and swapped it in. The machine works perfectly now. It seems this model likely had a faulty i3 12100F.
I started by verifying the initial steps after it functioned properly.
Confirming connection: are you connected to the GPU rather than the motherboard? The F version lacks built-in graphics.
