The setup involves 12 cores at 4GHz with a demanding AVX-intensive task (P95 without AVX is already extremely challenging). What were your expectations? If cost correlates with thermal output, the 3990X would essentially function as an LN2 generator. I don’t know of any such specification. According to official data, it’s designed for up to 4.6GHz in single-threaded performance only—no boost across all cores listed.
