I put in new RAM yesterday (4x8GB at 3600 MHz CL18) and my PUBG keeps crashing while I play. This isn’t happening in any other game or task, and I ran a memtest which said the RAM should be okay. Before that, I used 32GB at 2400 MHz with CL15 without any problems. A friend of mine had the same issue after changing from 3000 MHz to 3600 MHz two weeks ago—only PUBG was affected. Could it be the game itself struggling with high memory speeds, or is there something else going on? I’m hoping someone can help me figure this out.
What are your specifications? If it's truly just one game crashing, you might want to point the finger at that particular title.
CPU and board specifications often require RAM speeds faster than the chip supports. Processors include memory controllers separate from motherboard ones; mismatched speeds may cause performance issues.
Ryzen 7 3700x at 4.3 with high heat under heavy use. MSI MPG x570 Gamign Edge Wi-Fi Asus RTX 2070s OC. Mainboard and CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 @4.2, Asus X570-F Gaming.
Likely requires increasing the Dram voltage and SoC slightly. Inputting timings manually might also yield improved outcomes.
It's set to auto now. Try these values: 1.0 for precision, 0.5 for medium, and 0.0 for no adjustment.
