This machine is quite outdated. I used to run it as an unraid file server for my studio. For roughly six months it began acting strange, requiring a 30-minute plug-in before it would power on again after a power outage or similar. Recently, it completely stopped responding and no longer posts anything. Any advice? You mentioned PSU and motherboard but aren't sure. Spoiler alert!

I've only been there for a few years, so I don't think it would be that.

It really comes down to your goals and resources. At first glance, a complete swap seems the best choice. It had a respectable life, but it’s time to part with it.

I also have an old X99 computer, though that might be too much for this situation.

The power source is likely the main cause, accounting for nearly all failures in older setups. If you have an X99 device, try connecting its power supply to this board to observe the issue.

Consider changing the PSU if another option exists. If not, opt for a budget newer model (about four years old) whether new or refurbished rather than the power-hungry X99. How many storage devices are you planning?

There might be limits on the MB as well and they could have been exposed

Your PSU appears to be in poor condition, is it a compact form factor ready to install?
