The 10th generation i7 processor runs quite warm during intensive tasks.
Hi! I recently purchased an MSI Ge66 laptop paired with an i7 10750H. For gaming it performs well, but for studying it’s quite problematic. I need the fans to run at 0 RPM—something I’ve achieved with other MSI models that have even worse cooling. Currently, the settings are set to low performance, which keeps the CPU at 0.5 GHz, making the system extremely sluggish. Medium performance pushes it to 4.4 GHz just by opening a blank Chrome tab. I’d like the CPU to idle between 1.5 and 3 GHz so fans stay quiet. I tried XTU, but undervolting isn’t available and disabling turbo boost is also disabled. Thanks in advance!
Keep the computer quiet during study sessions; fans increase slightly after a few minutes. Temperatures rise to 80 degrees until you adjust the fan speed.
Maybe some laptops don't need fans when they're off. How are your temperatures?
Bigger gaming models are easier to handle. A thin, light Intel setup feels like a jet engine.
