Yes, Facebook consumes a lot of memory on its own. Sometimes I notice it uses more than 1GB of RAM just for the app. But isn't Chrome also running high?

Chrome and Facebook are working together. Adblock seems to be having issues, though it was amusing at first.

It really makes sense. However, I suggest checking out Firefox and using uBlock Origin. Chromium can be decent, but it isn't the most efficient option available. Neither Firefox nor Chromium are ideal for saving resources.
