While exploring, surfaces don't appear, preventing gameplay. No clear solution is available.

Check the game cache first. Do you have any overclocking setups?

Is this set up for gaming on a PC? I might run into problems with texture loading then...

The issue is that you don’t meet the required specifications for playing GTA 5

GTA5 needs a Q6600 at 2.4ghz or an AMD Phenom 9850 at 2.5ghz. Neither reaches the highest levels, yet you're significantly under those numbers. I've even managed to play GTA5 smoothly at 60hz on a quad-core 2.0ghz i7 2630qm, but that processor is hyperthreaded—it would easily surpass your capabilities. Your graphics card performs adequately; GTA5 lists the NVIDIA 9800 GT with 1GB RAM and AMD HD 4870 as the minimum specs, which you can meet, though the CPU remains a major bottleneck.

I often hear this in the community. It wasn’t something I expected to mention, but... "Time to upgrade bro, that just won't do." Experiencing firsthand: I owned an E7500 with Core2Dou 2.75 and GT 9500, eager to play GTA V. Running GTA IV at 15FPS on 1024p low settings was tough, so I had to push through and finish both endings. After that, I upgraded my GTX 560, achieving around 20Fps on average. Now I’m hitting 59Fps (it doesn’t seem to climb further) in GTA IV at 1024p highest settings. In GTA V, I’m reaching 75FPS with High setting D10.5 at 1024p and High Settings, especially avoiding VRAM-heavy tasks like post-processing.

You're not getting clear details about your specs, and I understand you're already meeting the system requirements. It would really help if someone could share practical advice or shortcuts for fixing the texture steaming problem in the game. Your input would mean a lot!

Texture streaming relies heavily on your storage speed first. You're using a low-end hard drive, which will limit performance. CPU power also plays a role; it seems it's not strong enough to handle GTA V smoothly. The game likely spends much time processing textures, and if you restrict VRAM usage, texture quality might suffer alongside possible performance drops from swapping data. The recommended specs for GTA V are: processor – Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.40GHz (4 CPUs) or AMD Phenom 9850 Quad-Core @ 2.5GHz; memory – 4GB NVIDIA 9800 GT or AMD HD 4870 1GB; sound card – 65GB HDD. Your system fails to meet at least two of these requirements. EDIT: It looks like the suggested specs were correct, here are the minimums. Updated July 31, 2017 by M.Yurizaki
