Testing performance boosts on a B660i motherboard
I reviewed several b660 motherboard videos that claim overclocking capabilities, but yours doesn’t appear to show any results. You own an ASUS B660i with a 12700k RAM and tried tweakers paradise and BCLK overclocking settings, yet nothing appears in the main menu or lower options. I’m not sure if you have the incorrect BIOS.
The B660I Strix lacks the clock generator required for BCLK overclocking. Memory overclocking is feasible on this board, but CPU overclocking isn't an option. It's not a major concern since the 12700K offers very limited or none at all, making significant overclocking impractical. For context, only four B660 models support BCLK overclocking: Strix B660-F, Strix B660-G, MSI B660M Mortar Max, and ASRock B660M PG Riptide. Other boards don't support it.
It was a close call—I was almost at number one with just GPU overclocks. That’s why I focused on overclocking.
Speedway doesn't include a CPU section, so unless you're severely limited by your processor (which is unlikely with a 12700K), overclocking won't offer much benefit. This differs from games like Time Spy or Fire Strike where physics matters, but even then memory upgrades usually matter more for performance than CPU tweaks, especially after Coffee Lake.
