Hello everyone. I'm trying to keep things brief, just ask for more details if you need. I bought a PC in February this year. Until mid June everything worked well – stable temps, smooth performance, no lag or crashes, and great gaming. After that, some games would crash after a few minutes. No error messages appear. I used to play for hours, now they stop within an hour. I changed settings, reinstalled games and Windows, but nothing helped. I considered updating the BIOS, seeing a forum tip about fixing a crash for one game. I checked my motherboard specs online and realized my RAM isn't listed as compatible. Also, the speed shown in Task Manager (4800 MHz) doesn't match what I see for my RAM (5200 MHz). Is this a compatibility problem? Should I still update the BIOS? I've watched many videos about BIOS updates, but it scares me. My specs are: AMD Ryzen 7 7700X, 8 cores, 4.5 GHz, 32MB + 8MB, AM5 GPU, MSI PRO X670-P WIFI, BIOS 1.20, Corsair Vengeance BLACK 32GB/5200MHz, 2x16GB DDR5. Power supply: ATX 950W, ANTRYX 850W. I'm unsure if this is the issue and want to be careful.

CMK32GX5M2B5200C40 operates at 4800 MHz, with 5200 MHz only possible through XMP overclocking. This is typical and not indicative of a problem. The issue seems connected more to hardware than crashes or freezes.

I suggest refreshing the bios. New bios often include bug fixes, sometimes introduce fresh features and improvements. Even if someone claims updating their bios ruined their system, there are countless successful updates worldwide. Make sure you have a reliable, tested backup before proceeding, but it offers strong protection and quick performance. After the update, enable XMP/EXPO or similar settings to boost RAM speed. This isn’t a guaranteed solution for every issue, but it’s a solid recommendation.

I can review the Event Viewer logs to look for any entries related to 'nvlddmkm' around the crash times.

Thanks for sharing this! It sounds like your RAM speed isn’t an issue, which is reassuring. I’m not sure if RAM motherboard compatibility is the problem either. Still, it’s making me a bit puzzled about what’s happening with my computer. That’s helpful to know. I have a UPS, and I can test it by unplugging it to see if the computer stays on. Correct? I just replayed the crash by opening the game and playing through it until it stopped. Here’s what I observed:
- My GPU usage jumped from nearly zero to 100% during the crash (around 5 seconds).
- After checking the Event Viewer, I didn’t see any 'nvlddmkm' errors linked to this crash.
- A new error appeared shortly after the crash, though I’m not sure what it means.
If you’d like, I can help translate the Spanish part for you.

It seems there was a misunderstanding, but I wasn't actually experiencing any errors. The issue might be unrelated to Spanish or any other language.

Most units include a test switch, but if it doesn’t work, simply remove the device. I wouldn’t rely on that switch either—there was an instance where a unit claimed everything was normal during testing yet crashed when a storm hit.

Thanks for your feedback. The issue was likely in the BIOS settings. I updated it to the newest version, and now my games and programs run smoothly. It’s unclear exactly how they connected, but it seems resolved. I hope this doesn’t happen again.
