That’s positive to hear. It looks like MemTest64 isn’t functioning properly, so I won’t need to worry about that now. Thanks! It makes sense. I believe some problems arise because the maximum supported speed for Ryzen 7000 is 5200, even though the optimal range is around 6000. I chose 6000 for that reason. Memory Context Restore didn’t help when I downclocked my first memory kit to 5200, though. I haven’t tested it with this one yet, but I can try and observe the results. Would I need to adjust other settings, like memory timings? My first kit worked fine with one stick but failed with another, which led me to suspect a BIOS issue now.
I thought shutting down or MCR were the problems, but turning on PBO alone prevents booting. PBO seems crucial compared to the other two options. I’m sure it functioned with the older BIOS, so I’ll go back to that version. Others say the beta BIOS is more reliable, but I’d prefer to wait until then.
You have the necessary components for your system, but confirm compatibility with your RAM specifications.
never heard of that brand, but a quick search shows they're not too bad. You might be missing cooling or just not used to the silicone lotion. Not sure if the CPU needs PBO; if so, you could attempt to remove it yourself.
I notice it’s likely I faced some bad luck with the silicon here or my cooling isn’t sufficient. That said, my PSU looks solid though. I think PBO is intended for this setup because others use it to match the performance of a 7600X. I also ran MemTest86+, and it performed well with EXPO I but failed after 8 minutes when using EXPO II, which seems to tighten certain timings. After adjusting some BIOS settings, it passed again—though I was using EXPO II with default BIOS for 28 passes. Could this be related to my RAM, EXPO II, or the BIOS configuration? If it’s an issue with the latter two, I’d skip them. I cleaned the contacts, verified proper latch, and reflashed the BIOS. How many passes do you typically run?
