Trying to run UE5 on a Radeon R9 290X works, but I encounter a warning about DirectX 12 not being supported. Some users suggest using community-developed drivers to bypass this issue. My understanding is that my GPU should handle DX12, though I’m hoping to test the demo version before it ends. Let me know if you have any ideas!

The system recognizes several versions of DX12, with version 12_0 currently active. It seems the application likely needs a higher version, possibly 12_1 or even 12_2.

Have you given it a shot? Or was it not helpful for you?

It's in the public testing branch, I couldnt find GameUserSettings.ini to edit and remove any such line. In my Local folder, I only have a folder for the regular version of the game. Double checked this and already have it set to false for d3d12 for performance, tried it with true same result.

I think that's what I'm guessing. It seems like I haven't found any details online about this. When upgrading to a 5800x3d and a 3080, I only added 8GB of RAM since around 2013/14, right? I wonder if this is the final stage.

The 3080 delivers impressive gaming power, easily overpowering the R9 290x. Combined with the 5800X3D, this setup offers a powerful and enjoyable experience. It's a great performance boost.

Still, think about it—you can’t afford a fresh 5800 X3D, but the 5700 X3D is available at a lower price than a used 5800.

This link points to a discussion on the Radeon community about a driver update for the Nebula 23, specifically regarding the hybrid release and WhQL version.

It hasn't been my chance yet, but the testing just wrapped up. I'm ready to make the change now since it's the right time.

Sounds like it could hold up for a while, right?
