I began exploring RDR2 and compared it to a hardware unboxed video GPU. My FPS look quite low at 1080p, but temperatures seem fine and I’m not experiencing throttling. I’m unsure what to do next.

Use MSI Afterburner to observe performance issues. It works best with hardware unboxed configurations. You’ll notice 1080p frames match 1440p quality. GPU utilization is 76% at 1080p and 95% at 1440p. With a 5GHz Intel, the bottleneck at 1080p will be higher. Consider upgrading to a 1440p monitor or a R7 5800x. It’s best to address both options.
