I bought my GPU about a year ago and have been fine so far. Recently, when launching a game, my PC started making a really loud buzzing noise. I’m not sure if coil whine is the cause, but it’s much louder than usual. I’ll share a video to illustrate the sound (the Fortnite startup noise is fine too). My card is a Gigabyte GeForce RTX™ 3080 Ti EAGLE OC with 12GB RAM. No performance problems have been noticed. I’ve tried lowering the FPS limit, but it didn’t help. I’m considering undervolting the GPU to see if that affects things. If anyone has advice or knows more, it would be really helpful. This is beyond my usual PC hardware experience. Video.mov

It seems you're describing something related to a dry-running liquid cooler pump. Would you like to know more about its function or how it operates?

It would be helpful, I've faced similar problems before. No matter what adjustments I make, I can't seem to remove air from the pump. It's not the most critical part of the setup. Could you share any advice for diagnosing this issue? Also, it sounds normal when idle with fans running, but it changes when the system is under load.

Have you explored MSI Afterburner or comparable tools to cap the GPU speed? Reducing it slightly may affect performance, but the trade-off is minimal.

You pushed the AIO pump to its limit, but it still couldn't produce the desired sound.

This was my next move. It's something I've never tried before. I'm sure it's something I can do, so now I need to understand what I'm working on.

It's quite simple. A GPU comes with settings for VRAM and its own frequency. You'll need to lower the GPU's maximum speed slightly to observe any impact on coil wine. Reducing it won't influence stability but will change performance. Alternatively, you might decrease the power limit by a small amount to check if it affects the whine.

When peak temperatures reach 75°C or lower, proceed without concern, silence the alarms, place the equipment under cover, and install additional power cables.

The computer shut down unexpectedly and won't restart. I've tried a power-saving mode and CMOS reset, but it didn't work. I'm planning further troubleshooting this evening. It might be the power supply unit failing completely. I'm not sure if I'll need to replace the GPU.

Without power or lights, the issue lies with the PSU. If there was power, overheating occurred due to lack of cooling.
