Malware cannot prevent the antivirus software from working. Open the Control Panel, then Administrative Tools, then Services. Arrange the services alphabetically, allowing you to locate the AV by its name.

The antivirus interface includes toggles for enabling or disabling protection. It could be useful to verify this setting. What antivirus software are you currently employing?

antivirus programs are built to bypass typical launch procedures for two main reasons: 1. viruses might attempt to load before the antivirus, evading detection. This means a strong antivirus must start as soon as possible. 2. you can disable its startup in Task Manager, which applies to almost any problematic software. In essence, if you're using Windows 10 and don’t want to pay for an upgraded system, uninstall it and stop supporting the license. Running it before boot is a serious security risk—better stick with Windows Defender instead. By the way, disabling your own antivirus lets Windows Defender initialize its protections, which are currently quite effective.

The antivirus exists since you either downloaded it yourself or it was included with the software (bloatware). It didn’t set up automatically. Have you checked the app list and removed it if needed?
