Hello, your question is clear. It's not unusual for the 5900x to experience spikes reaching up to 90°C under certain conditions. With your deepcool ak620 cooler, Corsair 4000D case, and the recent thermal paste application, it seems like the system was initially struggling briefly before stabilizing around 65-70°C. This behavior can be normal depending on workload and cooling efficiency.

I notice a 90°C temperature during Linpack Xtreme at 250W with the 5900X, especially with the air cooler on.

I'm not familiar with your setup, so I'll just share some observations. This setup looks solid—good fans, decent cooler, nice ambient conditions. The 5900X handles high loads well, almost effortlessly. I ran it under one of the toughest scenarios I've seen and still managed to keep things stable. Pay attention to those power limits!

Sure! You want to know how to avoid seeing core temperature spikes up to 90°C for a short time. Your CPU is running at stock BIOS settings, and the system is an Asus TUF X570 Plus with Wi-Fi. You’re not sure why the spikes occur. What details about your setup would help?

Generally not. It’s fine in most cases, but it will slow down if it runs out of fresh input. Avoid this at all costs. Keep providing it with new data.

Airflow looks solid with three 120mm intakes and three 120mm exhausts on the case. The cooler should help too, and room temperature is about 25°C. You’re not worried yet, but you might want to pay attention around 90°C. Focus on cores, package, and die temperatures. Thanks for your concern—it’s normal to feel a bit nervous!

You used your TIM method without needing to demonstrate it. Just describe the steps you followed.
