The CPU operates at a voltage higher than required, likely due to an outdated BIOS version. A default voltage of 1.6V being too high points to overheating issues. Cooling performance isn't sufficient since temperatures reach 75°C while power use stays around 1.7W.

I regret the delay in sharing this update. My previous message overlooked a few issues while assembling the PC. It seems either I or the maker (not knowing which) may have altered some pins in the CPU slot on the motherboard. One of the CPU power connectors was also affected, though the first one remains functional. I took it to a repair shop where they managed to partially restore the pins and provided me with the necessary details to fix it sooner. While removing the CPU for cleaning, I realized not all pins were fully unbent. I’m planning to replace the motherboard soon, depending on my finances. Unfortunately, I’m a student on a tight budget. These parts were meant as a birthday gift, and I’ve been dealing with this situation for about a month and a half.

On a positive note, I ended up receiving a different cooler from a friend. He gave me an unused Arctic Cooler iii 240 mm, but it didn’t fit his setup. After repositioning it, I had to slightly loosen the cooler to get it working. It started up, turned on the fans, and displayed RGB, but kept restarting endlessly. Once I adjusted everything, it booted after tightening a few screws.

Could the damaged motherboard be contributing to this issue? Sorry for missing this in my original post. I’ve been extremely busy lately and lost track of time. I’m completely new to this and really appreciate any advice you can offer. After several attempts—seating and reseating the cooler three times—I reached idle temperatures around 60 degrees.

Regarding the BIOS updates, that was a major effort. I visited my exact motherboard’s website, identified the correct BIOS for my Intel processor, and flashed it. It worked! When I booted into the BIOS, temperatures dropped by about 20-25 degrees. However, when trying to boot normally in Windows, I encountered infinite blue screens with varying errors. I attempted recovery mode but kept rebooting.

I downloaded the correct BIOS from the manufacturer and used a compatibility chart. Formatting the USB as FAT32 and flashing again bricked my computer twice. The only solution was restoring the original BIOS from the download link.

Now I’m considering getting a new motherboard, so any guidance on what to do next would be invaluable. In the meantime, I’m using my PC for schoolwork—primarily Autodesk and ArcGIS Pro. No gaming or heavy tasks.

I’m still trying to figure this out, but I’m hopeful things will improve once I have a fresh board. Thank you all for your support so far.
