I observed this unusual temperature variation in the CPU, with swings of about 10 °C. The intervals between spikes differ significantly, ranging from tight to more dispersed as seen in the images. Temperatures appear normal overall, and there’s no clear cause I can identify for these fluctuations. Thanks for your help. Specs: CPU - 3800X Cooling, EK 360mm AIO GPU, ASUS ROG 3080 PSU, 850W RAM, 16GB.

Your fan curve and background applications are listed. The steep curve might explain the temperature fluctuations, or background processes could be responsible. Since it's a very cold setting, this shouldn't be a concern.

It makes sense that CPUs behave this way—they heat up and cool down quickly based on what they're doing.

Okay good to know this is normal from my CPU I had just never noticed this before and yes the average temperature is low so it isn't a problem. Thanks for your replies!

The fan curve is designed for 600-700 RPM at idle and increases around 65°C. Background applications like iCUE and wallpaper engine were removed, but there might be additional ones you haven't considered.

Idk then, ig that's just how the cpu is supposed to work, unless it overheats i don't see a problem
