Hello. I might have an issue, so I’m seeking some guidance. Appreciate any advice you can offer. Thanks ahead of time for your support. I tend to monitor temperatures closely, so I usually launch HWiNFO64 when the PC is running, particularly during gaming sessions. Generally, temperatures and fan speeds look normal. Recently, a USB disconnect/connect sound occurred and a warning popped up indicating a USB device wasn’t functioning properly. Usually, my case lights shut off when HWiNFO64 starts, but after this alert, they turned back on while the program was active. It’s also possible I might have been misled, but I’m fairly certain the CPU fans vanished from HWiNFO64 at that moment. The fans themselves were still spinning, though. The GPU fan speeds remained visible in HWiNFO64 as expected. After some research, I tried shutting down the PC and disconnecting the power supply for a few minutes. Once I restarted, I noticed HWiNFO64 no longer turned off my RGB lights during operation, which suggested something was still going on. I rebooted again and checked the BIOS and Smart Fan settings. No changes made, then I booted normally. This time the RGB lights switched off while running HWiNFO64, and the CPU fans displayed normal speeds. Everything appeared to be back to normal. However, during a game (Dying Light 2 at medium settings), the CPU and GPU temperatures reported by HWiNFO64 seemed unusually low—around 35 and 37°C respectively. The GPU fan was running at a steady 1300rpm, which matches its typical speed for this title. The CPU fans were slightly slower, fluctuating between 1000 and 1200rpm during my checks. I’m not sure if anything is amiss or if it’s just a temporary dip.

It’s possible you’re triggering issues by running multiple HWinfo instances unintentionally. Your RGB software likely depends on HWinfo for sensor data, which can cause conflicts when two instances are active. Or a sensor driver might clash with Hwinfo. I experienced the same problem with my PC freezing into a disket during Hwinfo launches. Using Icue RGB helped; the fix was disabling a problematic ASUS sensor that was set to 105 degrees. Once disabled, launching Hwinfo became smooth again.
