The Intel thermal throttling limit for a 11900K is 100°C. https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/...0-ghz.html A builder of ready-made systems shouldn't raise this to 115°C. Check the BIOS and adjust the max temp to the proper 100°C setting. A tiny dot or a short line over the cores works best. Kit Guru shared an image showing what lies beneath the heat spreader. https://www.kitguru.net/tech-news/featur...echnology/ Narrowing the cooler improves even distribution and reduces air gaps. The standard voltage for Intel CPUs is slightly high; lowering the core voltage can help bring temperatures down.

There are increasing instances of boards setting tjmax at 115. It's quite unusual.

Actually, I thought about it too—115°C sounds extreme.

On my Asus board, the Maximum Core Temperature is located in the Ai Tweaker area. Intel states that 100°C is the safe upper limit for operation. They don’t promise lasting performance above that point. For optimal results, choose Auto. ThrottleStop confirms this advice.
