I’ve just assembled my first PC and the CPU temps are too high during light work or idle periods, ranging from the high 50s to high 70s. After launching a game, they jump to the high 80s with an AIO and no overclocking. I’m not sure what’s causing it. The setup includes: Ryzen 5 5600X, ROG Strix 6700X GPU, MSI Gaming Edge B550 M.PSU, 240mm 1TB Samsung NVMe Corsair RM750X, Corsair Vengeance RGB, and 16GB RAM at 3200MHz. I’m unsure how to bring the temps down.
I haven’t taken out the pump block yet since I don’t have any more paste or cleaning material to remove the old paste, but I’ll check it later once I have some. This information appears in the bios for more context.
Spicy... my 5600 will lower to 25c with an air cooler. Your idle feels just like my load.
Initially I followed the steps I took and had to modify the wiring which improved the pump RPM. At first it was very low, but now it’s working properly. I suspect either the thermal paste wasn’t enough or the metal plate didn’t make good contact. Once I clean off the old paste, I hope this time it’ll be perfect.
