Temperatures during idle are not meeting expectations.
Hello everyone - I’m trying to understand what’s happening with my setup. I recently purchased a Ryzen 5 5600X paired with a Noctua NH-L9x65 SE-AM4 cooler on an MSI X570-A Pro, and I followed the power profile recommendation of 'balanced'. For a while, the machine ran smoothly at around 32°C during idle. However, once it was idle for a short time, the temperature jumped to about 47-52°C. If I open Task Manager and close it quickly, the temps drop back down to 32 within minutes. Once I load games like Cyberpunk 2077 or Project Cars 3, the temperatures rise again to 55-66°C. When I exit any application, the temps return to 32 after a few seconds, but after a few minutes they go up to 47 again. I suspect a Windows update might have triggered this behavior, though the power profile settings remain unchanged. Could anyone help explain what’s going on and suggest adjustments to restore the cooler’s idle temperature?
