Temperatures are extremely high on the CPU.
Hey there! I started assembling my first PC about two weeks ago, thanks to your kind help. It’s an AMD Ryzen 5 7600 and it’s running at around 45-50°C initially, which I thought was normal but now feels quite high. After some time, it settled between 35-40°C—still a bit hot, but not alarming. I’ve got three intake fans, a 240mm AIO cooler on the front (intake), one exhaust on the ceiling, and another near the CPU on the side. I’m wondering if the problem lies with the thermal paste or if there’s something else affecting it. I built it recently, so I’m not sure what went wrong during assembly. I think I might have booted in before and accidentally touched the cooler inside, which might have left a residue. Right now it’s around 30°C outside, but I don’t know my room temperature. The Task Manager shows only light usage—about 8% CPU. Some people say 7000 series gets hot, but this feels different. I played Baldur’s Gate 3 last night and it hit 83°C. I’m a bit worried this could be more serious than it seems.
These readings are just right; my 240mm AIO usually shows high 80s during gameplay most of the time.
I possess a 7700x and 9800X3D that operate smoothly. They maintain a stable temperature similar to yours. There’s nothing unusual here—their performance doesn’t fluctuate drastically between 56°C and 83°C, especially in demanding scenarios like Baldurs Gate 3. It’s a CPU-heavy title, so expect high temps during intense battles in Hell Let Loose. I’m not concerned; these chips naturally heat up. My 9800X3D stays around 45-50°C even when idle, which is normal.
I think it’s possible you didn’t power it back on, which is something that often happens. Verify both connections carefully. If they seem connected, remove them and reinsert them.
