Recently, while playing RDR2 at 1440p with medium settings, my temperatures have climbed up to a maximum of 70°C. Previously it stayed around 58-63°C when using the Standard Fan setting. Is 70°C still considered normal? I’m confused about why it suddenly increased. I also turned off PBO in hopes it would return to its usual level. My setup includes an Asus B550-F motherboard, an Asus Ryujin 240 AIO with 32GB RAM, a 5600X graphics card, and an RTX 3070.
Results under real CPU stress would be impressive. It seems you were likely more GPU-dependent when you noticed that. Based on what I've learned and my own testing with a 5600X, the 1980s are quite typical. Even the lower 80s shouldn't raise concerns. The TjMax for the 5600X is 95°C.

It's a good idea to compare results using Cinebench to confirm consistency between PBO and regular settings. Some users notice performance drops even when clock speeds appear correct. I experimented with undervolting, but my scores actually declined despite higher boost speeds. If you don't want PBO enabled, it shouldn't negatively impact performance much. How significantly did the game run hotter with PBO active?
