Hey there! I set up my PC for the first time about three months ago, and everything has been working well so far. The main problem I faced was with my WiFi connection. Recently, while playing AC Origins for a few hours, my PC stopped working during the game. I couldn’t use the keyboard or mouse, and I had to press the power button to shut it down. When I tried another game, it worked for a while before it locked up again, forcing me to restart it manually. I’ve noticed my CPU is getting much hotter now, and even when idle it’s blowing up at high temperatures. I used to have a comfortable 30-40°C and around 1% usage, but now it’s reaching nearly 60°C without any reason. Starting a game causes the PC to freeze completely, with temps and usage soaring. I’m not sure what’s causing this sudden overheating—maybe it’s not just the CPU heating up randomly. *EDIT* After a while, temperatures stabilized and I saw normal readings. Right now, the idle temps are about 29-35°C, which is good. If I start a game now, it would probably spike the temps again and lock the PC. My setup includes an MSI X570-A Pro, AMD Ryzen 3700X, Corsair TX550M PSU, GeForce RTX 2070. Anyone have any advice? I’m still learning about PC builds, so even a five-year-old would understand if you explain it simply.
Avoid kicking the PC? Could it be cooling issues or mechanical damage? (Cooler not resting directly on the CPU) Run HWinfo, execute Cinebench R20 multiple times. If performance looks good, consider additional benchmarks. Use CPU-Z or Prime95 for consistent CPU stress testing. Check voltage levels, clock speeds, and temperatures. The system logs the lowest, highest, and average readings. Brief spikes in usage are normal since some tasks start, finish, and operate independently—like antivirus software. If power demands arise, Ryzen supplies them fully. Ensure your antivirus and malware scanner are up to date: Windows built-in BitDefender and Malwarebytes are effective.
