Hi everyone! I've been having some kind of weird stuff going on with my cpu. First of all, specs: Ryzen 5 3600 Asus Prime X570-Pro Hyperx 2x8 at 3200Mhz As a cooler I'm using my old CoolerMaster ML120R RGB. With custom fans Only software being run for RGB control: Armoury Crate. Software for checking temps, voltages and frequencies: Ryzen Master CPU-Z I have POB and DOCP disabled.. (Should I enable them?) So, by default it runs between 35 - 45°C (Ryzen balanced power plan). It reaches 60-65 while gaming Now, the problems: I've not been able to make it go higher than 4.0 ghz. Voltages at 1.35-1.4 Sometimes Armoury Crate decides to reset or something, and I've to configure all my RGB again. Once while doing this I noticed quite unusual temps. Testing a bit I found out that, and here's the weird part, if I don't set a color/effect/whatever my temps go up by 10°C. Always, no exception. And it's always by 10°C Has anyone ever encountered something like this? I'm actually worried about the rgb stuff, the other one is quite common from what I read until now. Before anyone asks, all my drivers, bios, chipset, whatever is updated.
It doesn't make sense to expect a CPU to run at a specific clock speed after purchasing it—perhaps the component is defective.
DCP must be activated. It might feel a bit weak, but it’s not impossible to reach higher. Using only PBO provides what?
Approximately 4 to 5 months later. I don’t have to worry about the temperatures; according to what I’ve learned, this chip tends to get quite hot. What concerns me is that adjusting my RGB settings raises my CPU temperature by about 10 degrees. Making that change actually reduces it by 10°C.
