I can begin a fresh discussion about my CPU situation. I’m using the 5900X with Noctua NH-D15, two fans, and I need confidence while gaming. Idle temps hover near 45°C, but in-game spikes reach 85°C (peaking at 93°C). My Cinebench R23 score is 21,021 with a CPB max of 4940MHz—loud and unsettling due to fan noise. I’ve tried turning off Core Performance Boost in BIOS, which removes the boost and drops the CPU to 3.7GHz, limiting temps to 62°C and lowering the score to 18,703 (silent). I have front intakes, one exhaust at the back, and two ambient fans; outside temps are above 30°C with the window open and no AC. I also attempted to cap the CPU temperature at 75°C with CPB on, keeping boost active but limiting heat to 75°C, resulting in a moderate noise level. Which setup suits me best for gaming at 3440x1440p and occasional video editing?

You're curious about balancing power and quietness in a CPU choice. Let me know your thoughts!

I'm checking whether any of these situations could harm your CPU over time. I don't care about the noise, just want it to last as long as possible. I'm okay with leaving it as is because it's not factory settings. Please let me know if this makes sense.
