This setup is a year-old custom build from cyberpower PC. Initially, I planned to assemble it myself, but pricing made it unfeasible. Since cyberpower sold the components well, I opted for a pre-assembled unit this time. I haven’t used a liquid cooler before, so I suspect reliability issues are the concern due to their complex design. In the past month and a half, the CPU has reached temperatures around 100°C even when idle. I monitor processes, but it runs at only 10-12% while hitting 95-100°C. My main tasks involve working with Unreal Engine, Adobe video editing software, and some gaming. After installing Windows 11, I updated drivers, refreshed the BIOS, and ran a memory diagnostic—no problems found. Today I replaced the cooler with fresh thermal paste, but temperatures stayed the same. The Intel Core i7-13700K DEEPCOOL LS720 AIO is a 360mm RGB model, 2X 2TB Kingston FURY Renegade (total 4TB), featuring DDR5/6000MHz dual channels and Wi-Fi 6E. It includes M.2 slots, PCIe x16, PCIe x1, SATA 1GbT, and 1000W power delivery.

Is the cooler securely installed? Is the pump operating? Does it have the newest BIOS?

Sorry for the earlier mistake—I just finished typing and added more details now. The cooler looks securely installed, as confirmed by cyberpower work and several instructional videos. I refreshed the bios. Regarding the pump: when you grip the liquid tubes, you’ll notice a gentle vibration, which is normal. It helps to have a baseline reference for what feels typical.

Select good thermal paste, remove the cooler, wipe off old paste from cooler and CPU, spread fresh paste on CPU, reinstall cooler. Verify.

One of the pipes connecting the pump to the radiator is noticeably hotter than the other.

It hasn't stood out much yet; I'm wondering if it needs time at this temperature to become noticeable. I'll monitor more closely over the next hour to catch any changes. So far, they seem fairly similar, though one feels a bit warmer.

A blocked pump may cause temperature differences between tubes. You might purchase a more affordable air cooler that matches your setup to aid in troubleshooting.

A more affordable option might work, but pay attention to the required specs. For the X120 model, it should function well. Regarding cooling for rendering and editing, a solid air cooler usually suffices; an AIO is often better if you need consistent performance. If you decide to upgrade, air coolers tend to be more dependable.

The assassin X 120 seems likely to act that way. A 12700K isn’t ideal for a warm CPU. A decent air cooler would suffice. If you go with upgrading to something like 14700K or 13700K, hardware canucks posted a video yesterday—though I haven't watched it yet. You mentioned it. Here it is:
