Temperature reaching over 60°C on SSDs
I was scanning for malware and noticed my computer slowed down. I stopped the process, looked at temperatures, and rerun it. The temps fluctuated between 50-60°C, with occasional spikes above 60°C. It’s a Rocket 1TB drive. Is this a cause for concern or normal? I usually don’t run virus scans often.
It’s generally fine with this temperature for an M.2 SSD, though it’s a bit higher than ideal. It could be due to the virus scan you ran, which puts extra strain on the drive. The size also limits effective cooling.
