Hi,
I'm just starting out with overclocking and have decided to attempt an overclock on my 5960x after some time. Although it's an older CPU, I'm aiming to maximize its performance right now.
I've activated the XMP profile on my G.Skills RAM, which raised its speed to around 2800mhz from the standard rate. This adjusted the BLCK Frequency to 127.3 and set all cores to a modest 33, giving me an effective 4.2ghz according to the BIOS.
Sometimes I notice my 64GB RAM fails to recognize properly, dropping it to about 48GB, possibly due to DRAM voltage adjustments which helped but are inconsistent (I've tried up to 1.3v).
Everything else remains at Auto settings.
I've captured several screenshots of the BIOS and a Windows idle session with the CPUID stress test, showing elevated temperatures even when the system is off. This is especially noticeable with the AIO on Extreme, which doesn't exceed its limits.
Apologies for the lengthy message; any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
