I'm using Asus Thermal Radar and I'm not sure if this is connected to Windows 10. I didn't realize it until I installed the thermal radar, and it never caused any problems before. In fact, I'm puzzled about why the idle temperatures reach 73°C as Windows 10 calls sleep mode. Even with the fan speed settings adjusted, it's still running around 500 RPM when it should be lower. When I switch to the maximum speed setting, it reaches full speed again, then drops back down to 42°C. This behavior seems like a program issue because the fan doesn't follow its own preset values after manual changes. The issue appears to be related to the manufacturer's pre-set parameters... This was the configuration when the temperature hit 73°C and I didn't do anything special, which triggered the fan and heat warnings.

Additionally, from my observations, the thermal radar fan consistently remains at its lowest speed setting... the initial button... although I own the unit, it still operates at 50% capacity even at 90°C.

Once the PC awakens from sleep and sits idle on the desktop, does the temperature decrease? Which CPU model are you running?

I'm using a 2600k I7 and it was idle. I adjusted the Thermal radar settings, but it only changed the first setting. I lowered it vertically even though it was higher than other temperatures, yet it still dropped to 500 rpm when it should have reached 70% rpm.

I plan to turn off custom fan speeds on the thermal radar... looks like this issue began there... now it's just tracking the CPU.

With the custom speeds turned off in thermal radar, the fan just operates at its maximum speed. I'm not sure if this was always the case. I'm okay with the noise, but I don't want it to damage my fan. It's almost four years old, and I don't want to replace the CPU fan or the whole CPU, because that would mean buying a new operating system, motherboard, and CPU.

Perhaps it is a Thermal Radar issue. Any particular reason to use it? CPU fan profiles can be configured manually in BIOS, to avoid Thermal Radar altogether. Check Chapter 3 of the motherboard manual for details.

In simpler terms, you would remove Thermal Radar and set up the correct fan settings using BIOS.

that is the solution I am coming to... I am wondering if there is a conflict between the programs also.... I however would like to get a fan and temp monitoring program
