I've been monitoring my temperatures since summer began. I noticed spikes on browsing and YouTube, reaching up to 60°C or even 66°C with the RYZEN 5 3600. Is that excessive? Also, gaming temperatures often go beyond 70-72°C during hot weather.

These readings are quite good, with no major concerns. The game performance looks solid—well below 88°C on the Ryzen 3600 would be considered fine.

AMD states the safe operating limit for a Ryzen 5 3600 is around 95°C, meaning you're far from that threshold. You can relax about it until it reaches the high 80s during gaming, particularly if the room temperature stays near 30°C.

Absolutely understood. The maximum temperature is 95°C. I was mainly concerned about those spikes reaching 66°C. It’s unclear how important this is, but I’ll note it: last year I upgraded my GPUs from a GTX 1660 SUPER to an RTX 4060. On the GTX 1660 SUPER, CPU temperatures would rise during summer browsing or YouTube, but I didn’t see them exceed 57-60°C. I mostly only noticed this after switching GPUs. It’s probably not a big factor unless you’re under heavy load.

Your CPU is probably handling more work to match the improved GPU performance. This is completely normal. The 66C isn’t a cause for concern. As both of us mentioned, wait until your temps reach the mid-80s before worrying. Below that point, everything’s fine.

The spikes remain within acceptable ranges. Focus mainly on temperatures when fully loaded or during intense gaming sessions. The CPU remains unaffected by high heat levels, whether at 40°C or 66°C. A quicker GPU gives the CPU extra capacity to handle more work, which is exactly what you need! Boosted performance is the result!

The GPU upgrade didn’t influence the CPU temperature at all. I only saw increased CPU temps during browsing afterward, not while browsing before the upgrade. Prior to that, the CPU would reach 57-60°C even in summer.

If the red indicators aren't showing, it's okay. Attention often gets too much on temperature—it's mainly due to other factors. Unless it's outside normal limits or you're pushing it too hard, staying within typical ranges is fine. At 66°C you can easily reduce fan speeds for a quieter setup.
