Technical support issue: Doom isn't compatible with Linux.
You have Doom and Doom II installed on Steam but they don’t launch on your Linux Mint system. Try checking the Steam client settings, ensuring you’re using the correct Steam client version, and verifying that your Steam account is properly linked. If issues persist, consider reinstalling Steam or updating your client.
Do you have Wine running on your computer? Based on what I know about Linux gaming, it seems Wine lets you run many Windows games on Linux that you wouldn’t normally be able to play.
The optimal choice is to employ a Doom source port such as GZDoom or PrBoom+
Checking the details, @CDEnthusiast is using Proton. The screenshots show both versions are functional (platinum and gold ratings). Links provided for reference: https://www.protondb.com/app/379720 and https://www.protondb.com/app/2300
You've set up Wine, but it's unclear which specific release is currently active.
It seems at least in Doom II it works eventually, even if it requires a lot of time.
