I recently assembled my initial PC and encountered what seems to be a peculiar problem. Once I power on the machine, launching games works perfectly with smooth performance and high frame rates. But after roughly five minutes of inactivity, I can no longer start games again. I can do this multiple times and switch between several titles before the time limit is reached, yet after that point I can't launch anything. This issue has occurred with both Halo Infinite Multiplayer (via Steam) and Warzone 2.0 (via Battle.net). I've checked all common fixes: verified no PCIe daisy-chaining to the GPU, used a 850W PSU from Thermaltake, repositioned all connections, updated BIOS and drivers, even rolled back the GPU driver. I also reinstalled Windows, updated game applications, cleared file integrity, toggled antivirus/firewall settings, ran as administrator, performed a clean boot, disabled DOCP, cleared cache, reinstalled games, attempted an in-place Windows upgrade, and turned off AMD and Steam overlays. My hardware specs are: Ryzen 5 7600X CPU, Corsair Dominator Plat 5600MHz DDR5 RAM, Samsung 980 Pro SSD (1TB), and I'm using Windows 11 Home. I have a dual monitor setup with an Omen 27qs and Omen 27i. I've searched extensively for similar reports but found nothing. I can work around it by restarting the PC whenever needed, though that's not convenient. Any advice or troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Explain the process in depth: when you close the game or app, check what actions follow. When you attempt to launch another game, see if an error appears or if it proceeds smoothly. Determine whether other types of applications can still be accessed afterward, or if the system becomes unresponsive until a restart occurs.

My system functions properly when I close the game. If I quickly restart after launching, it works without problems. But after about five minutes of booting, the game starts launching briefly—around 5 to 10 seconds—and then it stops. No error appears; the window just disappears. Everything else on my system remains normal, including internet access<|pad|>, videos, and other applications.

Only occurs with games in specific launchers or across different ones? All titles?

Correct, these are just games. Everything else works fine. I own only two titles: Halo Infinite Multi and WZ2. I use Steam for Halo and Battle.net for WZ2. The problem is consistent in both: after clicking “Play,” it briefly shows launching, then quickly switches to running mode and halts after a few seconds. I can restart the process but it loops again.

It appears some games or launchers are retaining system resources instead of releasing them when you close the application. Try pressing win+ctrl+shift+B after ending a game to restart your display drivers, and ensure you exit the launcher so the icon vanishes from your system tray.

You're facing a compatibility issue with Halo MCC on DirectX 12.2. Based on the information, it seems you should consider returning the product for a replacement or repair.

Avoid using DDU. Clear all driver traces and reinstall them.

I'm still catching my breath, but I believe it worked. I had to run the DDU uninstaller twice. The first time I let Windows update my graphics drivers and tried to skip them. My system kept freezing, so I installed AMD drivers instead. That brought me back to the beginning where I lacked the necessary features for the games I wanted. The second time I used DDU after restarting, I went straight to AMD's site to download drivers and try to outdo the Windows updates. The installation got interrupted because Windows was updating itself, but I kept going with AMD's software once I was cleared. After the update and reboot, everything seems to be working smoothly. Games launch as expected and I haven't experienced any crashes. Thanks for your assistance! I'll follow up if problems persist.
