The CPU/APU/GPU doesn’t perform better when not required, which is why you see those stable results and normal FPS. In BF4, I’m not 100% sure, but it might be the CPU or APU causing the bottleneck.

Battlefield 4 demands a lot of CPU power, and it looks like the A8 isn’t sufficient. There aren’t many solutions since you don’t have the K version, making overclocking impractical. You might consider upgrading to an Athlon 760K, though its impact may be limited.

When purchasing budget APUs, make sure they support overclocking.

The chart clearly shows this. In the best case, neither the GPU nor the CPU reaches full capacity.

Hey team, I think I’ve got it now. WoW isn’t hitting 100% either, but I’m not seeing any other bottlenecks like CPU or RAM issues, and I’m not reaching 60 FPS on ultra with AA. That still feels weird. On the flip side, when playing BF4, the lag comes from the turbo core tech. Turning it off makes the game run better. I believe this is related to the cores slowing down occasionally, which causes the FPS to drop.

If you're not handling many background processes while gaming, the best way to reduce CPU usage is to choose games that require less processing power. BF4 multiplayer can sometimes be quite demanding on the CPU, and your modest A8 might struggle a bit. You might try adjusting your video settings, though most changes only slightly affect the graphics card's load. In certain titles, shadow quality can also influence CPU performance.

Thanks! I'll test the shadow options. Disabling AMD turbo core gives me stable performance in BF4.
