Technical problems during 4K viewing sessions
Hello, I’m hoping to enjoy PC gaming at 4K resolution, but I’m facing a problem that’s frustrating me. My graphics card is a 1080 Ti and I connect it via HDMI to a Philips OLED 803 TV. When I set it up as a monitor and run games, even with HDR enabled, I notice significant frame stutters. Using MSI Afterburner and RTSS shows the timing is inconsistent, jumping between 60ms and 16ms. The stutter happens during gameplay, whether it’s HDR or SDR. I also tried the Surge 2, but it seems bandwidth issues might be the cause. My main monitor is an AOC 1440p 144Hz G-Sync model, which works perfectly. The HDMI cable I use for the PS4 Pro is the same one I use for gaming, and it functions fine there. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
The problem isn't just about frame rates, it's related to the formats I'm using. Even at 30 fps, things still don't work properly. Resolution is 3840x2160, refresh rate is 60Hz, and the output uses YCbCr422 HDR.
Launch the NVIDIA Control Panel and verify the display specifications it displays, ensuring they align with your requirements.
