When you run a server or game, your friend often faces lag even though their connection seems fine. Have you tried checking other factors like network settings, firewall rules, or server load? It could be something beyond just internet speed.

Our internet options vary. Your current plan appears to have a stronger upload speed compared to mine.

He needs to run a tracert from his PC to your server to check for delays in data transfer. You should also perform a similar test from your server using its IP or router address. This helps identify any issues affecting the return data as well. Setting up a VPN can prevent data from being scanned between you both. Remember, even with private plans, ISP sharing can limit speed. Internet performance is usually constrained by the weakest link—whether it's a router, firewall, or connection quality. Traceroute is a good first step to see which services respond along the path.
