I thought about testing the new Windows Technical Preview while playing Counter-Strike, but the game would crash right away unless I started it. I tried reinstalling drivers and checking the game files. Anyone else have similar issues? It seems like other users are having smooth performance.

I understand, both ideas didn't work for you. You're sure it doesn't matter now.

It's true that a highly unstable OS might face many issues with your hardware, drivers, or other programs. The likelihood of fixing this is very low.

It's basically an incremental update from 8.1, with all the drivers that functioned on 8.1 also working in the technical preview. The changes are minor, making it easy to resolve any issues as if using Windows 8.1.
