Downstream appears fine. Verify upstream SNR—aim for below 54dB and above 35dB. If your signals look good, consider rebooting the modem; it might be due to a misdownload. The config file determines your speed. Should everything else work, contact them directly. It seems you only have seven downstream channels, which is unusual.
Upstream is 43-44. The fourth stream matches the eighth for down. I’m not sure how many times I’ve unplugged the modem. Comcast has done it too. Twice with the new modem. Would this affect the modem to only see one specific computer and just that device? That’s the main problem right now. I can’t use a router with my modem and no other computer besides the one I’m currently connected to.
Modems shouldn't worry about the device connected. If you're stuck, you might need to restart both the modem and the device to get an IP address. You can attempt using a router and copying the MAC address of the working computer to test. The connection might be fine. Our area only had three upstream channels for a while. We just added the fourth recently.
I remember seeing an option to manually configure the MAC address on the router. I'll take a look and update you.
Activate the modem and remove the phone line connection. Connect the modem using Ethernet to a computer. Access the settings at 192.168.0.1 or 10.0.0.1 according to your model and verify connectivity. Set up DHCP, then reinsert the modem into the phone line and connect another PC. Send a ping from the first PC to the second: Windows/Linux uses ping 192.168.1.2. Ensure you update the IP address to match the connected machine. If successful, your internal network is functional. Try pinging google.com to confirm broader connectivity. If issues persist, I can guide you through advanced router settings.
As stated above. Hes on Cable internet not DSL. No Phone line. Its a standard Motorola modem. Which uses the 192.168.100.1 address. Im for sure, I have a Motorola cable modem myself, But mine is from before Motorola was bought by google, sold to Arris and the name was sold to Xoom.
