According to the title, the issue occurs whenever I play a game and causes the screen to flicker to the Windows sign-in window. I've already tried reverting NIVDA driver versions, reinstalling Windows, and performed a clean install, but the problem continues. Is this related to a Windows issue or a driver problem? Your laptop details are: HP Victus 16 RTX4050, 16GB RAM, AMD 7000 series, model from 2026-02-02.

Attempt to access Windows and review Event Viewer. If unsuccessful, enter Safe Mode and verify if problems remain.

Do you want to know if you used the Windows Media Creation Tool to erase your disk and reinstall Windows from a USB, or did you perform the reinstall directly through Windows settings?

I didn’t rely on a USB installer. Instead, I accessed Windows “Reset this PC” via settings, cleared all files, and allowed Windows to reinstall automatically. Following the reset, I reinstalled the NVIDIA drivers from the beginning.

Before tackling further issues, I’d review the DISM checks and restores first, then run the sfc/scannow.

The most recent time you checked and ensured proper airflow was unknown. You can look up the error codes online, which is often my initial action; AI response. The 0xC0000022 code generally means "Access Denied," indicating a program or Windows process doesn’t have permission to access certain files, usually leading to application failures or update issues. Solutions include running programs with admin rights, using sfc /scannow to fix corrupted files, disabling third-party antivirus temporarily, and restoring the system with dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth. Permission problems are the most frequent cause—make sure the app has the right access rights. Corrupted system files can result from failed updates or disk issues; run sfc /scannow in admin mode to address this. System file damage may require opening Command Prompt as administrator and executing the scan. Licensing errors often appear during activation; restart the licensing service via net stop sppsvc and net start sppsvc. Specific software like Path of Exile can be affected by damaged DLLs or files; reinstalling the relevant program helps. If the problem continues, try a clean boot to eliminate background service conflicts. Also refer to the Microsoft guide at https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answer...0xc0000022 for more details.

You're seeing many warnings about HP Display Control Service. This could be related to software updates or system maintenance. Check if it's necessary and ensure your system is up to date.
