Team Fortress 2 Lag
Team Fortress 2 Lag
I like playing Team Fortress 2 on my machine, and have never faced problems with Windows 10.
Recently switched to Windows 11, and I noticed sudden lag spikes in games.
It doesn’t happen all the time, but it’s definitely a recurring issue.
I tried using the WLAN optimizer, but it didn’t help (disabling background network scanning).
The lag usually lasts only about two seconds, which is enough to ruin the game at that moment. After that, everything works perfectly.
TP Link reported their unit is defective and plans to replace it. It worked fine on Windows 10, so if they fix it, it should be okay.
I’m curious if others experienced similar problems after the Windows 11 update.
When sharing a troubleshooting thread, it's standard to provide complete system details. Please format them as follows:

Regarding the TP-Link equipment referenced, could you specify the models? Updating the BIOS on the motherboard, reinstalling all relevant drivers, and applying a firmware update to your router or networking devices may help resolve the problem.
Sorry, I didn't think it was important since it runs on the same system with both Windows 10 and Windows 11.
But I'll add the details now.
I have some data that could assist. I monitor the task manager while playing, and when lag occurs, Disk 3 shows a higher percentage usage, indicating a periodic issue there that may be causing the delay. I'm curious about what might be happening.
I experienced a couple of email exchanges with TP Link regarding this matter. The WIFI Adapter functioned properly on Windows 10, but no issues arose. After upgrading to Windows 11, the problems began. They informed me about the drivers, stating that Windows 10 drivers were sufficient and provided generic ones for testing. However, neither resolved the issue. They then claimed the device was defective and requested proof of purchase along with a serial number photo. Since the unit is several years old and I no longer have the receipt, I’m unable to provide it. They refused further assistance due to this requirement. My concern is that the drivers aren’t compatible with Windows 11, suggesting they might not be updated for that version. I’m wondering if TP Link is being slow to adapt or if the device itself isn’t supported. I’m thinking about switching to a NETGEAR Nighthawk adapter now.
