New player inquires about GTAV online tips. After setting up a character (Level1), they want ways to earn money and level through jobs or joining heists organized by others. They ask how to secure their car so only they can drive it, noting players often take over and damage it. They seek a list showing which players rank high (RANK12) can perform specific heists with certain details like name, money earned, and RP. They also ask how to prevent being forced into killing in free mode. Finally, they request recommendations for fast cars and vehicles with full armor that can summon four people for heists.
For positions you must interact frequently via phone; there are also random matches available if you prefer not to circle the area. You can invite people by clicking on blue circles. To progress, rank yourself before attempting any tasks in MP. Disable passive mode in the settings—location may be hidden but present. Earning money and levels comes from visiting random shops scattered across the map; robbable zones are highlighted on your map. Approach the cash attendant, hold up a gun, and wait for him to hand you cash (you can shout through your mic if you wish to speed things up).
At the initial stage, you’ll encounter numerous pre-written missions. I reviewed them until level 12, after which I began executing heists. The income from these missions often surpasses what you earn from random phone jobs. Keep an eye on your messages and calls—respond promptly, as accepting these tasks means working alongside others, which can aid your learning since they’re straightforward to start. Tasks vary from car theft to store robbery.
In the open area, your vehicle is restricted to your own presence. Damage to it only counts if you’re in the open world; otherwise, it doesn’t affect you. This rule applies during heists and other assignments.
Beginning at level 12, Lester will contact you regarding the fleece job. From that point forward, you’ll be tasked with this specific heist, though you can choose any others. To participate in these, you need a high-end apartment—otherwise, you must team up with someone else.
You’ll also need to switch to passive mode at some point. The GTA 5 Wiki explains: “After your first death, GTA Online lets you enable Passive Mode. It protects your character from PvP firearms and melee attacks in the open world and stops you from harming others. It costs $100 and lasts 15 minutes.”
There’s also an armored heist vehicle, but it can only be bought if you complete a heist yourself. Right now, it’s best to spend your earnings on what you can afford, as most options don’t matter much. I’ve joined heists with a Zentorro and have seen some armored trucks available for purchase. Those could be more practical for larger groups. As a newcomer, please let me know if my advice was incorrect!
