It's the same issue I'm facing with saving text files (config stuff) and programs refusing to work because they can't reach those folders.

Ehm... was the installation of a couple of them... But the fact is that there is the lil' button to edit permssions that doesnt ask for the admin password, enters the panel and doesnt do anything .-.

It's common to face issues when adjusting folder permissions. Modifying ownership can cause problems. I think your issue isn't here. Are you using any antivirus software?

It seemed the setup failed a couple of times before it finally functioned, but disabling it didn't alter anything...
