Hello everyone, many Windows users have probably noticed the new update introducing a weather and news symbol. While it seems appealing, I’m puzzled because the location data for the weather appears to be included. Since I’ve turned off location usage in my privacy settings, it’s unclear how they managed to get it. Thanks, phse

When the Windows location setting is turned off, your IP address is likely used to estimate your position.

They receive the correct position even with a Proxy. That's unexpected, but thank you for clarifying.

Occasionally it works better, other times it doesn't, my IP indicates I'm in a city about 150km away.
