Taskbar disappears when hidden on Windows 10/8
I never concealed the taskbar in WIN7, so I can't confirm if this issue exists there. After switching to Windows 8, I began hiding it (now using 10, but the problem persists). With Chrome or Steam maximized, I can't see the task bar, which is frustrating since those are my most-used programs. I don’t experience this in Adobe Premiere, Edge Browser, Netflix, or a few other apps. It seems the problem might be limited to Chrome and Steam at the moment. Any suggestions on what could be causing this? I’ve heard others mention similar issues with Spotify too.
In Windows 10, pressing the start button on your keyboard usually opens the start menu as a temporary solution. The issue might stem from how you maximized the window—whether it was after using F11 on Chrome or entering big picture mode in Steam, or simply maximizing the current window.
It seems a particular issue only appears with Steam and Chrome, not elsewhere. I observed that in Windows 10 sometimes when you shift your cursor to where the taskbar should be but accidentally touch the Start menu or search bar, it doesn’t show up—this is clearly a Windows bug that has existed since the insider program began about a year ago.
